United St Saviours is excited to announce the opening of its Small Grants programme:

We welcome applications from those who are working in Southwark and focused on the following themes:

– Strong, resilient communities: connecting, enabling, and strengthening communities
– Positive ageing: reducing isolation and increasing wellbeing amongst older residents
– Levelling the playing field: targeted and life-changing support for population groups disproportionately experiencing social and economic disadvantage

Our large grants programme is open for expressions of interest for groups whose activities benefit residents of Southwark. We're looking to support activities which (1) help to build strong, inclusive and welcoming communities, (2) reduce inequality and open up opportunities, and (3) make Southwark a great place to grow older.

United St Saviour's Seeks Community Programme Coordinator to Spark Connections!

We are delighted to announce the official opening of Appleby Blue Almshouse in Bermondsey, marking a significant milestone in our mission to support the people and communities of Southwark. This innovative development reimagines the traditional concept of almshouses, offering 57 homes designed to meet the needs of today's older adults. 

NOW OPEN: Funding Differently, Neighbourhood Health Grants.

Community Southwark, the umbrella body for Southwark’s voluntary sector, local funder United St Saviour’s Charity, and Southwark Council have come together to seek to find a way to solve one of the charity sector’s greatest challenges in Southwark: access to affordable premises.

It's Neurodiversity Celebration Week and we've awarded 3 multi-year grants to local groups.

We are looking to recruit two dynamic and enthusiastic people to work at our flagship new almshouse.

We are thrilled to welcome Jason Charles to the team as our new Community Investment Officer. A proud South Londoner, Jason's dedication to empowering individuals and community groups is a perfect fit for our mission at United St. Saviour’s Charity. 

UStSC has teamed up with Active Communities Network (ACN) to run a new kind of grants programme. Normally, decisions around grant allocation are made by our trustees. This time we are shifting this decision-making to a locally embedded charity, and people closest to the issues.

With ‘Southwark Change-Makers’ due to start early 2024, we’re looking for a Learning Partner to work with us for the duration.  They will capture the lessons and measure the impact – working with the team in an iterative way across the two years.

A new joint research project led by Bournemouth University and United St Saviour’s Charity will explore how co-creating communal activities around food can support health, wellbeing and social connectedness as we age.
