Our original almshouses were located on Park Street, SE1, which is now the site for our commercial properties. These original almshouses were re-located to West Norwood due to the building of the railways running behind Park St. At the start of the 21st Century the West Norwood site was sold for re-development and the charity built the new almshouse in Purley. At this time a number of residents from West Norwood were relocated to the brand new almshouse

United St Saviour’s Charity obtained the Hopton’s Gardens Almshouses from Anchor Housing in 2011, giving us a total of 73 properties at both locations.
