Our Charity is deeply saddened by the horrific events in the heart of our neighbourhood on the evening of 3rd June. There is a strong sense of community in this area, shared by businesses, residents and community groups who will remain close and support each other. Our thoughts are with our friends, colleagues and neighbours who have been affected.

We have now introduced priority themes for our grant-making and these will apply for the next 3 years. Our vision for north Southwark is that everyone has the same life chances and opportunities, that older people are living a full and positive life, and that our communities are strong, inclusive and supportive of each other.

Thomas Cure, who died in 1588, was one of the charity’s main benefactors. On 13th June our partners, trustees and staff will come together in Southwark Cathedral to celebrate his life and the valuable work of the charity. The event will also serve as the opportunity to launch our new website and branding.

The first phase of planned maintenance of the exterior of Hopton’s Alsmshouse has now been completed. The six month programme of restoring the windows, doors, pathways and gardens has brought them back to their original beauty. Residents are delighted!
