United St Saviour’s Charity has been providing almshouses for older people from Southwark since the late 16th Century. Historically the Charity provided almshouses in Park St, SE1 and later at a site in West Norwood. We currently provide 75 homes across two sites at Hopton’s Gardens and St Saviours Court in Purley. Our residents live independently within a sheltered housing setting, in homes suitable for single people or couples. We provide a small number of 2 bedroom properties at St Saviour’s Court but the majority of our properties are self-contained one bedroom flats. To give all our residents’ peace of mind, each property is fitted with an emergency pull cord system, that link directly to our scheme managers or out-of-hours call out service for when managers are not on site.
We’re pleased to say that we receiver over 90% satisfaction in our last resident survey and provide on-site scheme managers and excellent services to our residents to provide them with a comfortable and safe environment.
