School Home Support
‘School Home Support’ (2 years restricted funding from December 2022)
School-Home Support Services will be able to provide two School-Home Support practitioners at four primary school in Southwark ( John Ruskin, Keyworth, Pilgrims Way and Bellenden). There were 4,231 children were persistently absent from school last year in Southwark because of issues at home, such as problems with their family’s immigration status, insecure and overcrowded housing, financial problems and food poverty.
The funding will help to support persistently absent children in Southwark, working with children and their whole families to find out what’s going on at home and doing whatever it takes to get them in school and ready to learn.
