Entelechy Arts

Entelechy Arts is committed to ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to contribute to community and cultural life. Working largely in Lewisham and Southwark, they work with groups experiencing loneliness, barriers to opportunity and who are too often not engaged or considered within the cultural life of their local community. Typically this is disabled adults, older people with physical or mental ill-health, those living in the community and care homes.

They work entirely collaboratively with target communities and artists to create and deliver their programmes – using innovative co-design methodologies.  They have received a two year grant to develop and deliver ‘Walking Through Walls’.   Located within the Tower Bridge Care home which has experienced many problems over the past few years, the project will engage with residents so they can have the opportunity to participate in the cultural life of Southwark, be visible, and to have vibrant, joyful experiences. It will involve weekly sessions where the residents will, create their own work and share this with the wider community – either in the Siobhan Davies Studios or Forma art gallery in Southwark.
