Following a rigorous assessment process, we are pleased to announce 4 large grant awards which will support projects seeking to transform lives and communities in north Southwark.

Future Men – Boys Development Programme

Being delivered at a critical time for young people in Southwark, this innovative programme will work with boys and young men from 3 primaries and one secondary school in Bermondsey/Rotherhithe to support them to manage the transition to secondary school. Participants will develop conflict resolution skills, emotional literacy, and build relationships with peers and teachers.

Duckie – The Posh Club

Following its ‘sell-out’ run down the Walworth Road in 2018, we are supporting The Posh Club to deliver their risqué and fun performance club for older people. Featuring up-and-coming new artists, and guaranteeing that everybody comes out with a smile, the Posh Club will deliver two further runs in 2019 and ‘20. Keep an eye on our website for dates and venues. https://www.facebook.com/WellRoundedLifebyattn/videos/662415347423569/?q=the%20posh%20club

Age UK Lewisham & Southwark – My Social Southwark

My Social will develop a calendar of age-friendly and diverse activities for older people. Developing a membership of users, and facilitated by a team of volunteers, this programme will encourage older people to be active, to reconnect with things they loved to do, to have fun and build strong friendships. The project will also pilot a new online platform, Sparko, for those less able to go out and about. It will enable older people to connect remotely to many activities through simple, TV-based technology.

Blackfriars Settlement – Positive Aging in North Southwark

A project also focused on older people, ‘Positive Ageing’ will deliver a programme of activities, outreach and befriending for those living in the Borough and Bankside area. It aims to reduce social isolation and increase wellbeing by enabling older residents to be active and feel included in the community.
