Over the last year we have been reviewing the landscape of community investment in Southwark and beyond. This process has involved looking at our current practices, consulting numerous community partners and grant recipients, and looking at the overall purpose of United St Saviour’s community investment in the borough. We are currently pulling all our thoughts together, and will share them widely in the coming months as part of the charity’s wider strategic review.

Furthermore, we are also in the middle of recruiting our next Head of Community Investment, following the recent departure of Sarah Thurman. We are all looking forward to welcoming a new member of our team and introducing them to our community partners.

Normally at this time of year we would be launching our Spring 2025 large open grants round. As a result of all the changes happening, we have taken the decision to put this grants round on hold. For those who applied to our January 2025 large grants round, we will be letting applicants know of their outcome at the beginning of April.

Please be assured that we have not taken this decision lightly. We want to give all applicants the best possible opportunity to secure funding and as current circumstances could not guarantee that, hence our reason to pause the next round. We will update you more once the new Head of Community Investment is in post.

Our current plan is still to open the January 2026 round as usual in Autumn this year. Please note the small grants round is now open, should you wish to apply for that in the interim.
