The Posh Club

The Posh Club is a glamorous daytime performance and social club for older people.  Each three-hour event is styled as a tongue-in-cheek ‘posh’ 1940’s afternoon tea with a live compare, cabaret artists, singing and music, a volunteer waiters in black tie, vintage crockery and even an-house pianist.

Originating from the fantastic ‘Duckie’ in the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, The Posh Club is now celebrating 10 years of existence and delivered in many different areas of the country.  Posh Clubs are held community venues – in elegantly transformed church halls, community centres and even shopping centres! The emphasis is on dressing up, regular access to live performance, social connectivity and intergenerational volunteering.

We have provide the Posh Club with a two year grant to come back and deliver their fabulous parties in Southwark, working with the Camberwell Incredibles – and hopefully holding some of their events in our new Appley Blue Almshouse in Bermondsey.
