Community Southwark is an umbrella organisation for charities and community groups in Southwark. Their mission is to support charities and community groups with advice, training, and volunteers, and connecting organisations to each other, funders, and decision makers to make change together.
Community Southwark has 1,074 Voluntary and Community Group members, as well as over 60 years’ experience of offering free services and making connections.
One of the biggest issues for the voluntary and community sector in Southwark is access to affordable and suitable premises. To help address this, Community Southwark created a new role – the Premises and Policy Officer – who works to match groups with available space, and liasing with stakeholders such as the council and local businesses to widen access and create more opportunities.
We have funded the Premises and Policy Officer for 2 years, and we are pleased to award Community Southwark with a further two years of funding.
