Established in 2007, the Southside Young Leaders Academy (SYLA) operates as an early intervention initiative catering to boys aged 8 to 16. The academy imparts essential values, life skills, and academic assistance to this demographic, with the overarching objective of bridging societal and educational disparities. SYLA endeavors to empower these young individuals, nurturing them into robust leaders who can contribute positively to society.

The academy employs a multifaceted approach to aid these boys. A cornerstone of their efforts is the Young Leaders Programme, comprising Saturday lessons, supplementary weekday support, and engaging activities during school breaks.

We have awarded them 2 years of funding for their Education and Leadership Programme.
