United St Saviour’s Charity funds Southwark’s voluntary and community sector through two main routes — Core Grants and Funding Differently. Each has its own funding range, purpose and application process. Here’s how each one works, and where to apply.
Core Grants
Core Grants provide larger, unrestricted funding — typically £30,000 to £150,000 — to help established Southwark, Lambeth and Lewisham organisations sustain and grow their work, in line with our focus on equity, empowerment and prevention. Our Core Grants are announced once a year; the 2025/26 round was announced earlier this year, and the next round opens for applications in January.
Funding Differently
Funding Differently is Southwark’s collaborative, participatory grants programme, delivered in partnership with Community Southwark and other local funders. It offers £5,000 and £10,000 unrestricted grants for two years, with a light-touch application process and no application budget required. The 2026/27 round opens Wednesday 9 September, with £500,000 available over two years.
Our online grant portal
All Core Grants will be processed through our online grant portal, Flexigrant: ustsc.flexigrant.com. Existing partners can also access their grant this way. Registering an account first will make the process straightforward.
