Staff and Trustees at United St Saviour’s Charity are saddened to learn of the death of Pat Hickson MBE this week. Pat was a leader and stalwart of South Bermondsey’s community. She chaired the Bonamy & Bramcote Tenants & Residents Association for many years and worked tirelessly for older people in the area. She lead the annual St George’s Day Festival in South Bermondsey which played a crucial role in building cohesion between diverse communities at a time when the far right was marching through Bermondsey. Pat was awarded an MBE in the 2010 Queen’s Birthday Honours. She will be sadly missed by many in the neighbourhood.
