Staff and Trustees at United St Saviour’s were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of local community champion Marion Marples last week.  Marion, who was a dedicated member of the Bankside community worked tirelessly for local residents, particularly older people. She was active at Southwark Cathedral, Lucy Brown House, Living Bankside and with the St George in Southwark festival. She worked with United St Saviour’s to provide events and activities for older people in the bankside area and was strongly committed to making a difference in our community.

Martyn Craddock CEO said, “Marion was a true community hero. She dedicated her life to improving the lives of others, especially the older people of Bankside and she will be sadly missed by many in this neighbourhood”.
