Residents from both of the United St Saviour’s almshouses enjoyed a sumptuous afternoon tea at the Ritz in Piccadilly this afternoon as part of the Charity’s ‘wishlist’ project.

Around 35 residents enjoyed a luxuriant afternoon in the private Marie Antoinette Suite at the Ritz where they were treated to a huge array of delicacies including dainty finger sandwiches, clotted cream and jam scones, cakes, pastries and a choice of exciting different teas.

United St Saviour’s charity launched the ‘Wishlist’ project in 2017. The aim of the project is to improve the lives of almshouse residents by giving them the opportunity to do things they have always dreamed of, or never done before. All residents were invited to propose some ‘once in a lifetime’ trips, activities or projects with Tea at the Ritz coming out as the most popular suggestion. This was closely followed by requests for spa days, a trip to the ballet or a day out at the races.
