We know how challenging it is for charities at the moment, with high demands for services and a hugely competitive funding environment.  So we are really pleased to have been part of IVAR’s Open and Trusting Grant-making initiative which is encouraging funders to make life easier for charities.

UStSC has been part of this really important piece of work from the start and we are absolutely delighted that 100 funders have now signed up since the initiative launched on 10 February 2021.

We are committed to being more open and trusting in our grant-making, and together with over 100 other funders, we have signed up to an initiative run by the Institute for Voluntary Action Research to develop our understanding of what this means in practice. Reflecting on what they’ve seen over the year since the initiative launched, IVAR share what it will take to drive this work forward – and to free charities up to respond flexibly to the evolving needs of the communities and causes they serve.
