United St Saviour’s is proud to continue supporting the work of Opening Doors London to provide a wide range of services to isolated older LGBT people living in north Southwark.
As well as supporting their work through grant funding, we are now committed to working towards the Pride in Care quality standard to show how we support LGBT people in our almshouses. The Pride in Care standard is available to all organisations providing care for over 50’s, including people with dementia. The standard looks at staff attitudes and training, policies, publicity and the experiences of people using the service. The Pride in Care standard accredits organisations for three years and provides a valuable link with Opening Doors London who continue to promote social, health and wellbeing activities, befriending, signposting to care services, volunteering opportunities and training in LGBT issues.
