Change Please C.I.C. is launching a new Café and Training Centre within Lendlease’s Elephant Park development in Elephant and Castle. With United St Saviour’s support, the social enterprise will be working to increase the life chances and opportunities of people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage through a training package that consists of:
- a London Living Wage job in the coffee, hospitality and catering industries
- training
- support with mental wellbeing
- bank accounts; and
- housing support.
The two-year project will both address the under-representation of homeless people in full time employment (identified by Crisis UK) and take advantage of the job opportunities available in the coffee, hospitality and catering industries – the UK’s fourth largest employer (British Hospitality Association).
