Borough Market, Better Bankside and United St Saviour’s Charity set up a Trader Support Fund for local businesses and individuals suffering financial hardship as a result of the terrorist attacks of 3 June 2017.  Contributions to this fund were received from the founder members and many other local businesses and residents. A representative committee was set up to award and monitor the funds.

In recognition of the urgent needs of some of the smaller traders, the first priority of the committee was to get funds to the most financially vulnerable. £33,000 of emergency funds was paid on 13 June 2017 to enable the small Borough Market stall-holders to keep trading.

Phase 2 of the Trader Support Fund closed to applications on 3oth June. On 7th July, awards totalling £89K were announced to 59 traders that met the eligibility criteria for the Fund.
