Walworth’s Huntsman and Hounds pub was officially re-opened on 6th November following its purchase by United St Saviour’s Charity and temporary closure for refurbishment. Local residents joined the Charity’s trustees and publicans Market Taverns in celebrating this important local community pub which was built in 1892 and more recently prevented from sale to a developer following a Walworth Society campaign to recognise the pub as an Asset of Community Value. The rental income from the Huntsman and Hounds pub will support the Charity’s exciting community investment programme and almshouses.
