Residents attend falls prevention talk

Residents at St Saviour’s Court in Purley were visited by Age UK Croydon last week where they received some helpful advice on how to prevent falls.

The talk, which covered 15 ways to help prevent falls and advice on what to do if you have a fall, got the residents thinking and talking to each about how to make sure they are safe in their homes and when they go out.

Around 35 people attended the workshop and learned about falls prevention as well as all the other services offered locally by Age UK Croydon.

One resident said, ‘I went straight back to my flat and moved all the trip hazards. I hadn’t previously thought about how dangerous they might be’.
