Colin Jones (College Warden)rden)

Colin Jones is Development Director of YouthNet, the on-line charity providing information, advice and guidance for 16-24 year olds via www.thesite.org and www.do-it.org.  Responsible for all voluntary income and finance he also heads up YouthNet’s research function guiding the development of the charity’s services providing impact measurement and the intelligence needed to support young people in the most effective way.  Colin’s team just won Fundraising Charity of the Year at the Professional Fundraising Awards and Best Charity to Work For in the Charity Times Awards!

Having graduated as an industrial designer in 1990, he worked for RM Associates a London design and architectural practice.  As Account Director, clients included the London School of Economics and Whiskers cat food!

Colin is an ‘early bird’ and so don’t call his bluff by asking for a 6am breakfast meeting because you’ll loose!  On the flip side you won’t get much sense out of him post 17.30 in the afternoon unless it’s planned!   He’s a fervent believer in the mantra ‘pessimists are usually right but optimists often live longer and are more successful’!  His office desk is an extension of his home life and for the last five years Colin has been restoring an old house; we’re not convinced he’ll ever finish it…Colin has lived in Southwark with his partner a General Practitioner and Cardiologist since 1998.
